Wild Duck Hunt at Huckleberry Ridge |

Hog Island Point is located off the coast of Cedar Island between Cedar
Island National Wildlife Refuge and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.
This area of North Carolina’s Inner Banks is a mecca for waterfowl,
including
Brant,
Tundra Swan,
Canada Geese,
Pintails,
Scaup (bluebills),
Redheads,
Canvasbacks, and sea ducks.
Our coastal waters, marshes, and ponds make it a water fowler’s dream
boasting a variety of diving ducks and puddlers. Hunts can be arranged
for you and your guests in our four duck blinds, each accommodating three
people. The private island is accessible only by boat, which we can
provide. There is a house on the island, and while we don’t house
people in it at this point in time, it’s good for getting warm, eating, and
getting out of the (hopefully) bad weather!

The Tar River is a river that is approximately 346 kilometers
(215 miles) long, of northeast North Carolina flowing generally
southeast to an estuary of Pamlico Sound. |
Our acreage along the
Tar River in Tarboro, NC
consists of scattered beaver ponds, swamps,
wooded marshes with flooded timber, and waterside grasslands that are great for getting a mixed bag of
puddle or dabbling ducks, including
Mallards
and
Wood Ducks (Woodies). You'll also have the opportunity to hunt other wild
inland ducks such as
Widgeon,
Black
Ducks,
Teal,
Ring-necks,
Gadwall,
and an occasional
Pintail.
Dependant on your hunt
date, you might have the chance to harvest a
Tundra Swan along with Canadian Geese. We also offer released
Mallard duck hunts for your shooting enjoyment, at $25 per duck with no
limit.
