Huckleberry Ridge Hunting Preserve – NC Whitetail Deer Hunting
We are now starting our fifth year of
deer management here at Huckleberry Ridge.
Year round, we plant and maintain various forages and pasture crops, including corn, chicory, rape, soybean,
peanuts, sweet potatoes, aeschynomene, clover, sugar beets, lespedeza, and a mix of small
grains to
attract the native whitetail deer to our game preserve and provide the nutrients
necessary to develop massive antlers. These food sources amongst the mixed
oak woods (for acorns), pastures and bottomland along the Tar River, Deep Creek
and Fishing Creek that make up our hunting preserve, offer the perfect habitat
for whitetail deer to breed and multiply.

limits listed above reflect the Huckleberry Ridge Hunting Preserve deer
population management policies.
